Got a passion for creative design? Not quite ready to undertake a full honours caste? Solent University's Design Foundation Programme is perfectly suited to students who may non be from an art- pattern- or fashion-related background or whose qualifications do not see the admissions requirements of their chosen class.?

To help get you lot upwards to speed, this i-twelvemonth foundation course provides all the creative, technical and report skills needed for entry onto a degree-level fine art, design or fashion class. Upon completion, you lot will exist able to progress onto a range of art-, pattern- and fashion- related courses here at Solent.

The course begins with a five-week group project. This enables students to mix with similar-minded peers and helps them to settle in speedily. This project also helps students to make up one's mind which area they might like to follow at a later phase.

The post-obit ten weeks are spent introducing students to the globe of art, design and fashion. This includes design history, vocabulary, methods and academic foundation. This x-week block will also give students the opportunity to learn and apply two-dimensional and 3-dimensional visualisation techniques, giving them the tools required to conduct their final projection.

This terminal project takes place in the terminal fifteen weeks of the form and is based around the specific discipline that the student volition go along to written report. The project will exist supported by tuition in visual presentation techniques, enabling students to communicate their concepts, evolution processes and final proposals. Students will also receive educational activity in verbal communication and presentation techniques, increasing their conviction in pitching design ideas.
